BCBSVT- I'm in network!
I'm happy to report that BCBSVT has been great to work with, being prompt and accommodating.

CIGNA- I'm in network!
This just officially went through a week ago. Cigna requires Naturopaths to list as specialists so some of you may need a referral to see me. Check with your plan and then come on in!

MVP- Out-of-network. Still waiting to hear...
My application should be approved sometime in February. I will keep you posted or call mid-Feb to check my status.

VHAP

As of Wednesday January 16, 2008, the legislature approved the bill requiring VHAP to cover Naturopathic services. And even better news, I will be applying to be a provider within the VHAP network. I will probably be accepted sometime in May or June depending on when they get everything together.


CATAMOUNT

Catamount covers the services of Naturopathic physicians. Catamount is currently being administered by BCBS of Vermont and MVP. So when you apply to Catamount, you must select one of these administrators. Currently, I am in the BCBS network so if you would like to work with me, you must choose BCBS as your administrator. Soon I'll be in MVP and it won't matter, but for now choose BCBS.

There is work being done at the capital to change the limiting requirements of Catamount. They are working to get rid of the 1 year waiting period for those switching from another plan, and also working on allowing business owners to offer Catamount to their employees.

I have applications and booklets about Catamount in my office for those interested. The new application covers VHAP, Dr. Dynosaur, and Catamount. You now only need to fill out one application and the state will decide which program you qualify for based on your income.

I encourage all of you without insurance to sign up. The monthly fees are reasonable compared to private rates. In addition, the state offers aid to those unable to make the monthly payments.
